Differences between K trains
Hi guys,

I've been looking around for tickets between Guangzhou and Shaoshan via Zhuzhou, and I notice that some of the trains between Guangzhou and Zhuzhou in the timetable that I use are marked as 快速 (regular K), while others are 空调快速 (air-conditioned K). The "non-air conditioned" K trains are significantly cheaper.

Since our group is planning to buy soft sleeper tickets on a regular K train (RMB 150-160), is there any difference for us, since soft sleepers are supposedly air-conditioned? Are there also other noticeable differences that we should be aware of?

If a train is non-airconditioned, then its soft sleepers are also non-airconditioned. However it is better then hardsleeper.

How so is it "better"? While I can probably tolerate a seven-hour overnight in a non-air conditioned train, the other people in the group might not be so forgiving.

By the way, Ken, this is a nice site you have! :)

There are four persons in a soft sleeper carbin however six in a half open hard sleeper carbin. So is it enough for an overnigh trip without airconditioner?
